Alcumlow Wedding Barn sits pretty in the heart of the beautiful Cheshire countryside. As a result, we are extremely lucky to benefit from breath-taking views from every direction.
We knew that we had to make the most of these stunning views by offering outdoor wedding ceremonies to our couples, so a few years ago we built the Outdoor White House. We are now extremely proud to offer one of the most unique outdoor wedding venues in Cheshire.
What is the White House?
The White House is an open-air structure in the silhouette of a chapel. Complete with an elegant aisle, a floral arched alter, suspended windows and flower filled window boxes. We feel that this gives our couples a unique and modern outdoor wedding ceremony with a touch of tradition.
How many people can it hold?
The White House can comfortably hold up to 100 guests. Just like in a church setting, your loved ones will be able to sit either side of the aisle with a great view of your ceremony. Hay bales can also be used at the end of the aisle for your bridal party to make them feel extra special and to add that rustic country touch.
What if it rains?
As much as we would love to, we can’t guarantee that you will have perfect weather on your special day. We are in the UK after all. But don’t let that put you off planning an outdoor wedding. You will have up until the hour before your wedding to make the final decision on if you would like to hold your ceremony in the White House or inside the barn. Luckily, our barn also offers a stunning ceremony setting so we are confident that you will be happy either way.
Can I walk down the aisle to music?
Walking down the aisle to music really adds to the atmosphere. We have a great speaker system to ensure that your special song can be heard by yourself and all of your guests as you embark upon that very magical walk. You can also choose a song to walk back down the aisle to as a married couple. Simply provide us with the music and we will take care of everything.
Can Confetti be thrown?
The throwing of the confetti is a really special moment in any wedding and an outdoor ceremony only adds to the beauty of this. We love to see our White House bursting with confetti as a brand new married couple make their way down the aisle. We only ask that the confetti thrown is biodegradable for environmental reasons.
Who will perform the ceremony?
As we are set in Astbury, you will need to book your ceremony with Cheshire East Registrars. They will give you a choice of ceremony times and will look after everything from a legal point of view including the signing of the register. Cheshire East have a lovely friendly team who are always happy to give you advice and plan your ceremony to suit your needs. For example, you can ask them to incorporate readings from you or your guests.
Where do we sign the register?
After your outdoor ceremony you will head inside the barn with the registrars and your chosen witnesses to sign the register. A table is set up and decorated for the signing of the register so it also makes for a lovely photo opportunity.
