5 Cute Ways to Celebrate Your Original Wedding Date

If you have understandably decided to postpone your special day due to covid-19 restrictions, you may be left feeling rather glum when your original wedding date comes around. But, rather than dwelling on what you would be doing right now had the pandemic not have hit, why not celebrate the date in its own special way.

Here are our 5 cute ways to do so…

1. Go on a Date Day

Obviously you can’t go on a typical date to a restaurant, cinema etc but this could be a blessing in disguise. Take this opportunity to spend some quality time together without the distraction of others. Chose a beautiful destination for a long walk, look back on all of your happy memories and reflect on your journey as a couple.

2. Exchange Love Letters

You may not be reading your official wedding vows on this date as planned, but one thing you can do is write down why you can’t wait to get married to one another and read them at the time that your ceremony would have been taking place. Not only will this make you feel super loved up but it will remind you that you still have your perfect day to look forward to. Don’t forget to have the tissues at the ready!

3. Bake a Wedding Cake

Let’s face it – cake makes everything better. So get your aprons on, raid the baking cupboard and show Mary Berry how it’s done! Baking together is perhaps not something you would ordinarily do so not only will you come out of it with a delicious desert (hopefully) but some fun-filled memories in your home that will last a lifetime.

4. Plant a Tree

Whilst you may not have tied the knot as planned on this day, it is still a special date to remember. Planting a tree is a symbolic act. Watch the tree grow along with you as a couple and let it remind you of the strength of your relationship. You may even wish to choose something which springs to life each year during the month of your original wedding date.

5. Arrange a Group Video Call

The current rules may stop you from spending this day with your nearest and dearest but that doesn’t mean you can’t see them in another form. Many video call websites and apps such as Zoom or Skype enable you to have a good old catch up from the comfort of your own home. So rally the troops and have a virtual celebratory toast to end this date on a high.

Not only will any of these ideas give you a romantic day to remember, but after it is all done and dusted, you still have your amazing wedding day to look forward to!
